Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, I accept Quartz (except for the State/Local Dane UW Health plan) and the Advocate Aurora employee health insurance plan (via UMR) at this time. Other plans may provide partial or full reimbursement for out-of-network psychotherapy. I strongly encourage you to call your insurance company prior to seeking care to verify that I am in network with your specific plan.
Additional questions to ask your insurance company:
Am I eligible for out-of-network individual therapy?
Am I eligible for these services to be delivered via telehealth (if applicable)?
What is my deductible?
Do I have any limits to my out-of-network coverage (e.g., number of visits)?
Relevant billing codes:
90791: Psychiatric diagnostic evaluation
90837: Psychotherapy session
I charge $200 for a standard 50-minute session.
You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" projecting the total cost of your mental healthcare. Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask me for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-877-696-6775.
I schedule sessions between 8am and 4pm Monday-Friday.
I require at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a session. If less or no notice is provided, you will be charged $100 to partially cover my fee and overhead expenses during that reserved hour. I grant one "freebie" per year, as I understand that emergencies and illnesses may occur.
I schedule weekly appointments with most clients, especially when beginning treatment. As therapy progresses, we might consider spacing out appointments more. I find that consistent meetings are essential to efficiently alleviating symptoms and building a strong therapeutic relationship.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any additional questions about my policies or the therapy process.
